You can consult the archives at the George Padmore Institute (GPI) free of charge.
Access to the search room is by prior appointment only.

Appointment times are available Mon-Fri 10.30-4.00pm.
Please notify the GPI as soon as possible if you are unable to keep your appointment.

Nearest Underground/Mainline rail: Finsbury Park (about 5 minutes walk).
Please be advised that the George Padmore Institute is not currently wheelchair accessible. However, we have secured limited reading space at the Islington Local History Centre for anyone unable to physically access the GPI. Records can be transferred to the Centre which is situated in the Finsbury Library, 245 St John Street, EC1V 4NB. The Centre is fully wheelchair accessible and has a disabled toilet. Please contact the GPI to book this service and to discuss your needs, on 020 7272 8915.

You can explore our catalogues on a searchable database and via our website. Detailed printed catalogues can also be consulted in the search room. For further information on visiting the archives, go to Visit Archive Catalogue on the top right of the Home page.
