The George Padmore Institute (GPI) has collaborated with Haringey Council and produced a quiz to celebrate the activism of John La Rose, co-founder of the GPI. Released as part of the council’s celebrations for Windrush Day, the quiz is free to access on the Haringey Council website. The questions highlight La Rose's significant contributions to the Haringey community and serve as an educational resource for all age groups, including students, while providing a creative approach to learning about Black British history, the GPI and La Rose's historical impact in north London. Also included is an image section, which visually illustrates key events and figures associated with La Rose's activism.
A comprehensive fact sheet includes all the answers, and a timeline details the events mentioned in the quiz, providing further historical context.
Access the quiz via the Black History Quizzes on the Black History Haringey 365 website page.
The GPI is an independent charity (1003001), it is not associated with any other organisation. We rely on grants and individual donations to continue to preserve and make available the stories of many black and Asian communities. See details below for ways to make a donation.
