The George Padmore Institute (GPI) is delighted to announce that we have successfully secured Arts Council England (ACE) Funding as a National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) for 2023-2026. Subject to the usual ACE negotiations, we will be joining the roster of regularly funded organisations for the first time in April 2023.

This funding means that we can expand the work we do to bring the important stories of Black British history from our archive to a wider audience, which will help to secure the GPI’s future. We’ll bring you more information on the important work we will be doing in the coming months.

Our thanks to ACE for this support and recognition of the vital work the GPI carries out. We also wish all those other NPO organisations well, whilst standing in solidarity with those who did not get funding and hope that they are able to continue their work.
